Chicago Bears chairman George McCaskey met the Sun-Times’ editorial board on Wednesday.

“It was very frustrating for my bride [Barb] and I and him because he knew that something wasn’t right — he wasn’t getting better,” said McCaskey, whose son began playing in fifth grade. “It was a very, very difficult situation.

“But even in that context, I would say overall playing some organized sport — in his case football, and he played without distinction — was overall a positive experience for him.”
